Having visited most of South America already, we were looking for something different in Peru where we had seemingly seen it all. We were not disappointed by the arrangements made by Inca Frontiers to visit the valley of volcanoes. My husband is an avid photographer and we enjoyed four days of hiking in gorgeous, literally undiscovered scenery around Andagua. The drive is long (around 10 hrs) from Arequipa but didn’t regret any minute. We had all places to ourselves! Looking back, this was probably the best place we visited in Peru including Machu Picchu.
We thought the Colca canyon would be the highlight but nowhere was more beautiful than the area surrounding Andagua where we hiked to waterfalls, viewpoints, and lagoons with no other souls for miles on end. We will recommend all of our friends back home.
